Sonic Boomer is a free SMS alert service that notifies subscribers when sonic booms from SpaceX rocket landings at Vandenberg Space Force Base are expected in their area.

Coverage Area: Within 100 miles of Vandenberg SFB (Central Coast California)
Alert Timing: 2-5 minute advance warnings, calculated from your distance
Launch Types: Only Return-To-Launch-Site (RTLS) landings at Vandenberg

2. How to Subscribe

To subscribe, text START [ZIP CODE] (example: "START 93436") to our service number displayed on sonicboomer.net. Your ZIP code must be within 100 miles of Vandenberg Space Force Base.

3. Message Frequency

Alerts are event-based only - you will only receive messages when sonic booms are expected
Typical frequency: 5-10 messages per year (depends on SpaceX RTLS launch schedule at Vandenberg)
No promotional, marketing, or unrelated messages will be sent

4. How to Unsubscribe

Reply STOP at any time to immediately unsubscribe and have your information removed from our system. You can also reply HELP for assistance.

5. Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan. Sonic Boomer does not charge any fees - our service is completely free.

6. Service Availability and Accuracy

No Guarantees: While we strive for accurate and timely alerts, we cannot guarantee:

100% accuracy of sonic boom predictions
Exact timing of sonic boom arrival
Service availability during technical issues or outages
That every launch will produce an audible sonic boom

Sonic booms depend on atmospheric conditions, flight trajectories, and other factors outside our control.

7. Supported Carriers

Compatible with major US carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and most MVNOs. Contact your carrier if you experience delivery issues.

8. Limitation of Liability

Sonic Boomer is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for:

Missed alerts or false alerts
Any damages resulting from use of our service
Disruptions caused by third-party services
Changes to launch schedules or mission parameters

Your phone number and ZIP code are collected solely to provide alert services. We do not sell or share your information with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the service for illegal purposes
Attempt to spam or abuse the system
Reverse engineer or compromise our service
